There are numerous matters to consider before moving into a residential or nursing home. The staff in all our homes will be happy to help you with the process and answer any of your questions. Dining is a very important part of our lives and forms a focal point for our residents' days. People can choose to eat their meals in the dining room, the lounges or their bedrooms. For all meals we offer a number of choices, if there is something on the menu that is not to your taste an alternative will always be offered. Between meal times tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks are always available.
We use mainly local suppliers and the catering staff prepare all the meals (with the excpetion of fish and chips from the local chippy!!). The menus are designed to provide nutritional requirements and we check monthly for any weight change in individual residents. Individual requirements and tastes are taken into consideration and the menus are discussed at resident meetings.
Participating is activities can be very important for a residents' well being. however it is important to respect every individuals choices about whether or not they wish to participate. The activities are designed to provide both mental and physical stimulation. Each home has an activities co-ordinator who plans and organises the home's activities. The activities are discussed at residents and relatives meetings so that they have a say in the home's life.
